The intent behind this piece was to represent a piece of folklore in a more contemporary context to help those who may not be familiar with it better understand it. I took the banshee from old Irish folklore and recast it in the context of the second world war. An older woman is awoken and leaves her home to find a specter outside holding the helmet of a fallen family member, signifying his death.
